I've been spinnin'

As soon as I got home from my interview on Tuesday I set to spinning up that gorgeous new fiber! It sure spins up like a dream! I've been using a worsted/woolen spinning technique. I really tried to get worsted to work for me but I kept having trouble getting enough fibers out from between my pinched fingers and the yarn would snap. Anyway, I've already spun up quite a bit and you can bet your sheep I'll be spinning up some more! I've got a little more information on my blog if you want to wander over and take a peek.

I worked a little bit this morning and found the short staples hard to hang onto. I'm learning! The wool is so soft and lovely and it will make something really warm and cozy!

It looks great, Jennifer! And apparently I picked right (at least from your perspective) in sending a darker color to work with. Woot!

I just checked out your blog and am most impressed by your progress. I'm starting to get a little nervous with everyone talking about how short the staple is on this fiber, but I'm going to forge ahead this weekend. I can only hope that my efforts look as good as yours!

Yep, it definitely takes some getting used to. Looks like you are getting the hang of it though.
